C4C - how to

The Concession for Classics (C4C) scheme is a concessional registration scheme available to owners of eligible Hot Rods and vehicles over 30 years old.  C4C is available to cars, motorbikes, trailers, caravans, motorhomes and trucks with a GVM less than 4500kg. 

The Basics….

  • You Must be a financial member of an approved DTMI club to access C4C.  The Western Australian Hot Rod Association Inc is an approved club.

  • Your Vehicle Must be at least 30 Years old to use the WAHRA C4C scheme and / or A Hot Rod as defined in the National Guidelines for the Construction and Modification of Street Rods in Australia.

  • Your Vehicle Must be a light vehicle (i.e. a GVM equal to or less than 4500 kg

  • You Must own the vehicle you wish to put on C4C (registered in your name). The concession cannot be applied to a vehicle that is licensed to an organisation that is NOT a DoT Approved Motoring Club.

  • You Must complete a logbook every time you drive the vehicle on C4C

  • Your Vehicle/s can only be used for a maximum of 90 days per calendar year, being:

    • 60 days to participate in approved motoring club events; and

    • 30 days for personal use (includes road testing, repair and maintenance).

  • You Must display a label stating, ‘restricted use’, above or below the number plate and either on the front or rear to identify that the vehicle has restricted road use.

  • You Must NOT use your vehicle for a fee, hire or reward

  • A vehicle registration under C4C is not transferable without the approval of Concessions Section - email concessions@transport.wa.gov.au.

Make it Happen….

  1. Read the Code of Conduct and FAQ's from DTMI.

  2. Sign up for C4C Membership of WAHRA Inc at $50 / year.

  3. Fill out your DoT form E116

  4. Email your E116 to membershipwahra@gmail.com and when you receive it back it's time for #5

  5. Email: concessions@transport.wa.gov.au OR post to Vehicle Services (Concessions), Department of Transport, GPO Box R1290, PERTH WA 6844  OR take it in person to a Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) centre, DoT regional office or agent 

  6. Organise your label stating, ‘restricted use’.  There are labels available at the Technical Inspection days (see events page) or online from Dynamic Pitstop.

  7. Set up you LOGBOOK and you are good to go.
